About the Author

Stephanie Serina Torres

Stephanie Serina Torres was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended Loyola Marymount University where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Film Production. She worked as Assistant to the Producer on the cable television program “You and Me, Kid”, for the Disney Channel in Burbank, California. She went on to become a successful Account Executive for eight radio stations throughout Northern California and also worked in commercial film editing in Hollywood. Stephanie has also done some print modeling and has acting experience in radio, television and theatre.

After eight years as a California State Licensed Real Estate Broker, Stephanie retired to become a health and fitness coach and focus on the cause of combating childhood obesity. This dramatic career transition earned her national recognition and she was featured on an episode of “Radical Sabbatical”, produced by the Fine Living Channel. Stephanie was selected as one of only a handful of stories nationwide due to her passionate commitment and inspirational life.

Stephanie is a California State Certified Hypnotherapist, Massage Therapist and 
Energy Healer, having graduated from Twin Lakes College of the Healing Arts and Luminous Body School for Energy Medicine, both in Santa Cruz, California. She completed Tony Robbins’ Mastery University and all eight levels of Human Awareness Institute’s Love, Sex and Intimacy workshops.

Stephanie created a successful community holistic healing center, Natural Balance, in Soquel, California, before transitioning into private practice, offering massage, hypnotherapy and intuitive life coaching. She’s received private mentoring by Tantric Master, Charles Muir, as well as training in Spiritual massage at Esalen Institute in Big Sur. Stephanie integrates her Native American roots through modern day Shamanism. She’s done a Vision Quest in Death Valley, and receives intuitive channeled guidance for her healing, integrated bodywork and creative projects.

Committed to body-mind-spirit health, Stephanie worked at Club One in San Jose, California and the Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos, as a Certified Personal Trainer, Youth Fitness trainer and Fitness Therapist. She’s worked with clients aged four to ninety four, training both high school girls’ field hockey teams as well as assisting elderly clients through the rehabilitation process and support through end of life.

Stephanie is the co-creator of “The Healthy Body Makeover,” a successful seminar program and support workbook for a 30-day personal transformation using Isagenix products and earned Crystal Executive status for her achievements in the company.

Stephanie served as President as well as other offices within the Aptos Toastmaster’s club and competed locally, receiving numerous awards for public speaking. Stephanie’s provided inspirational talks for the Association of Realtors, Rotary Club and other community groups throughout Santa Cruz county. She also gave a free eight week summer lecture series at the Santa Cruz public library entitled, “Living from my Soul” where she channeled inspirational talks and provided complimentary intuitive readings afterward.

Stephanie has led private women’s empowerment workshops and been featured in local media for her inspirational life’s work. Invited as a wellness expert at the Jewish Community Center’s fall lecture program, Stephanie taught on-going classes in Conscious Breathing and mindful living. Most recently, she opened a private practice in Northern California, completed the full documentation of her life’s journey and launched her website, www.gettingtolove.com.

Stephanie has raised two children who are now attending college. She is also known by her spiritual middle name, Serina, and currently resides in Northern California. This is her first book.
